TWO MINUTES OF FAME......MAYBE FOUR!!

On Monday we will be on stage at Monday Morning Meet Up!!

We have been practicing for this big event so come and see us.

OUR GINGER BEER RESULT!

Yes it worked!!

The ginger beer went all over the place because the yeast made the ginger beer go bubbly and fizzy.

When the lid came off it bubbled like a volcano!

It fizzed so much and we all laughed.

George laughed and laughed.

It went all  over the floor...I laughed till my tummy hurt!

Bread part 2

We put the dough in a bowl, covered it with a tea towel and left it overnight to rise.
The next day it had grown....it was just like magic.
Gayle put the dough into an oval shape just like an egg and then it went into the oven to cook.
It smelt delicious.

We ate it warm with jam and honey.
Yum!!

Next up...making bread with yeast.

We put all the ingredients into a bowl and mixed water into it to make a dough.

Then we had to knead the dough for 10 minutes...it was hard work!

We poured the liquid into bottles. Now we have to wait for four days before we can open the bottles.

We are hoping it will make a fizzing sound when we open them. We will let you know if it has worked on next weeks blog!!!

We put everything into a big bucket and stirred it with a wooden spoon.

Working with yeast...

To make ginger beer we needed six ingredients....yeast, ginger, lemon essence, tartaric acid, sugar and water.

WAIMAIRI UNIVERSITY...Food Science 101

We went on youtube to see how candy floss was made. We put sugar into the candy floss machine.....it went round and round and the candy floss went on the wooden spoon.
It was very yummy.

To make hokey pokey you need three ingredients....golden syrup,sugar and baking soda.

The mixture went hard. It was crunchy.

When we put the vinegar into the baking soda it went all frothy and then the baking soda had holes in it just like a crater.
