Off on a Spring hunt!

On Thursday we went on as Spring hunt to  the Terra Viva Garden shop to see all the plants that we could choose to put in our gardens at home. We were hoping to see lots of Spring bulbs but they had all gone. There was a huge display of vegetables that we could plant in our gardens and we all had to think about which one that we would like...some of us didn't want any!!!!!

Mmm...this would be great in our garden !!!

And what about these???

Mmm...what one will I choose?

Beautiful azaleas

After looking at all the plants we had a play in the play ground  that was there and then we  went into the cafe to have a treat!! We were all allowed to have a fluffy!!!!!
A lady that was having coffee there commented on how wonderful we all were and that we all had amazing manners! Rachel and Gayle were oh so proud of us!!!

This is great!

It is very fluffy!

I really like this!

I sometimes do this with my Mum.

Not bad!!

Just like adults do!!

No fluffy for me..I just wanted water!

We have had a busy week learning about famous buildings in France. There are so many beautiful old buildings. We wished that we could have some of them here in Christchurch!

So guess what we made...yes...parfaits to complete our French topic!!!

We read a story about Fancy Nancy who went out to a cafe and had a parfait....

It was delicimo! I had jelly, ice-cream , fruit and sprinkles.

My parfait was stupendous! I loved it all!!

It was okay. It didn't  taste like I had in mind. I would have liked chocolate sauce.

I didn't like it.

I really liked enjoyed it...I liked the jelly and ice cream. Thumbs up!!!

It was super duper delicious! I had rainbow sprinkles, jelly and ice cream.

I had jelly, sprinkles, fruit, chocolate chips and ice cream...it was thumbs up.Yum!!

We were meant to go to Hagley park to see all the daffodils on Thursday but it was very wet so we had a Teddy Bears picnic inside instead.
We made mini sandwiches for us and our teddies, had a teddy bear biscuit and a drink.
Our teddies were very tired when the picnic was over so we took them all home to bed....just like in the song.

Bon appétit....

Two  gorgeous mademoiselles having a chat.....in French
of course!!!!

We are very sorry that you couldn't join us yesterday as we had such a fun afternoon!

When we arrived at Learning Support we changed into clothes to make us look like someone from France. The boys had moustaches and stripped tops and when they put on their  berets they looked oh so handsome!!!!

I didn't like getting a moustache put on my face

Wearing a beret was fun.

I liked looking at myself in the mirror!!
It was a very pleasant afternoon...I enjoyed dressing up as a frenchman as France is my favourite country.

Bon appétit

The table was laden with food that they enjoy eating in France.....breads, cheese and pastries....and we had sparkling grape juice too!!!!

Croissants
Escargots
Le pain and fromage
Here is some of the delicious french food that we all got to taste.

Dont you wish that you had been there with us?

Enjoy your sunny weekend...see you all next week.

What a glorious Friday!!!

Welcome everyone !!!

Wow what a stunner of a Friday...the sun is just brilliant and the Spring bulbs are starting to rear their heads from their Winter sleepover!

This week we have shown how amazing we are by learning the numbers one to five in French!!
Gayle and Rachel are oh so proud  of us all.

We are also learning to sing the French song Frere Jacques.

On Thursday cinnamon scrolls were on the menu. We learnt how to rub the butter into the flour so that you couldn't see the butter anymore. The end result was very delicious....we wanted more!!!

Rolling the mixture into a rectangle.

Now for the melted butter....

Mixing the cinnamon and sugar....

Spreading the cinnamon mixture....

Nearly there....

Ready for the oven...

Delicious!

Enjoy your weekend everyone....see you next week!!

Week two already!!

We hope that you have all had a wonderful week and have been enjoying the stunning weather...it is starting to feel like Spring is on it's way!!!!

Our art activity this week was splatter painting.

Gayle pinned a sheet on the fence and we got our paint brushes and flicked paint at it.
It was quite a hard action to do and we had to do it one at a time otherwise we would have all been covered in paint!  As it was some of us went home with paint in our hair!!!!
'What colour will I choose?"

First up....

George giving it his best shot!

Rachel was very innovative...she used her brush like a magic wand  casting a spell!!!

Great concentration George!

The two 'Luke's' at work!

Aieshar went home with paint in her hair!

The final product!!

When the paint had dried we put the sheet up on the wall in Learning Support...if you have time come and have a look.....we are very proud of it.
