OUT ON A PUKEKO HUNT!

On Wednesday we all went to the Travis Wetlands to look for Pukekos.

We walked around the Wetlands....there were Pukekos everywhere!

They have beautiful blue/purple feathers,a red/orange beak and funny feet.....not webbed like a duck.

A very large black swan came out of the water and started to walk over towards us.He didn't look very friendly so we kept on walking.

There were lookouts for us to go into and observe all the wild life...they didn't know that we were there watching them.

It was very quiet and still.

If you haven't been to the Travis Wetlands we think that you should choose a sunny day to go there for a visit.

Are we enjoying drama? Yes we are!!!!

Wow!   It has been a very productive week with our super stars.
We are having a superb time acting out songs and stories.
If you go into youtube on the Waimairi School site you will see us acting out the Sleeping Princess song.

We are hoping to put all of our repertoire together for a concert for the parents.......so watch this space!

Off to the supermarket!

Yesterday we all went to the Countdown supermarket to buy some goodies for Mrs Leech's surprise birthday party.

We all had a turn at choosing something off the shopping list.

Gayle and Rachel are going to take us shopping again
as we were so helpful.

Jacob was in charge of pushing the trolley.

 Rachel had a $20 note to pay for all of the lollies.

 We all helped to take everything out of the trolley.

 Katelyn used the credit card to pay for the remaining items.

Week Three...

Our numbers have been down this week so we are looking forward to being back at full strength on Monday.


Jeremy,Jacob,Luke and Rachel are now all very capable  of preparing a treat for their family!
It is  quick,easy and very tasty to make.


All you need is 1 tin of reduced cream, 1 packet of onion soup and the juice of half a lemon.
Mix all the ingredients together and put in the fridge for half an hour.
Peel carrots and cut into sticks.
Open a packet of chips and hey presto a tasty snack!!!

Jeremy tried the dip but he didn't like it.

Emotions/Feelings

We have been talking about feelings and emotions and what they mean to us and others.

Some of us found it REALLY hard to make an angry face!

We are trying to make a face like our rabbit puppets.....how do you think we went?

These gingerbread men didn't get a chance to do any running  as they were quickly consumed as soon as they came out of the oven!

The holidays are here!

Here we are at the end of Term 2 and what a term it has been!

Your children have been absolute super stars with their learning as well as having some fun along the way.

We have started our topic on emotions and will carry on with this next term.

Thank you to everyone that came to visit us on Tuesday night. It was wonderful to be able to show so many people the learning that our super stars have done.

A big welcome to Rachel Watt who is joining us next term....Katelyn and Aieshar are very pleased to have another girl in our group!
