Musical Art.....

This week we tried something new...it was called Musical Art...well that's what we called it.
It was a bit like musical chairs....we all had a pot of paint each and seven large pieces of paper.
When the music started we began painting and when it stopped we took our paint pot and moved to the next piece of paper...it was fun working as a team and the art wasn't too bad either!

Luke...creating with a scrubbing brush

Rachel and Luke working with sponges.

Continuing on with our "Lets Make Music" theme we began painting cardboard tubes that we are going to turn into drums. We are all looking forward to completing them so that we can make some music!!

Our drums...we will show you the finished product next week!

To finish the week we made scrambled eggs which were delicious, then celebrated George's birthday with an ice cream...yum!!!

Happy Birthday George!!!!

We all hope that you enjoy the long weekend ....let's hope that the sun is going to shine.

Our Autumn art work.....

Yeah the sun is out!
Let's hope that it stays out for the weekend!

This week we completed out Autumn trees.
We  painted our arm and the palm of our hand then make a print of it and guess what...it looked like a tree!!!
The next day we used our fingers to make the leaves and then used a dish washing brush to create the grass and this is the final product!

Sorry about the placing of these...Gayle has done something wrong and can't fix it!!!!

We drew around our hands the turned them into a texture chart.

Also this week we all went up to Northlands Mall to find out what to do if we got lost there. The ladies at the information desk were extremely helpful.
We  went to check out the toilets and now we know the correct toilets  to use!!

Welcome back to Term 2.

We hope that you have all had a relaxing break.

To complete our "Senses" topic we made a sensory trail with  rope around the playground equipment outside Learning Support.

We all found it quite strange and it made us realise how difficult it must be when you are blind.

Jeremy liked having the blindfold on.

"I couldn't  see anything...I was just a little scared"

"I had to go around the posts...it was hard"

"I was a little scared cause I am afraid of the dark."

"It was easy peasy...there was a hole in my blindfold ."

Darren came to join us and had a turn...he found it difficult too and we had to give him a helping hand!!!!!

Well done Darren...thanks for coming to see us in action!

On Thursday we made pumpkin soup from a pumpkin that we had grown in the garden outside Learning Support. Thanks Mary for giving us the plants...it has been exciting watching them grow.

We were all champions at cutting the pumpkin up.
Busy Bees!!!!

Aieshar used her special knife and made a great job of cutting the pumpkin into small pieces.

Luke has been watching his Mum in the kitchen and knew how to get the pumpkin from the board to the pot!
All cut up and ready for cooking.

Finished product!

Comments...a little pale in colour but it still tasted yum!! Must have been the onions and nutmeg that gave it it's flavour.

Have a wonderful weekend and keep warm!!!
