Week 3 continued.....

Here are some more photos of us at Willowbank.

Brand new chickens...they were so cute and we wished that we could have had a cuddle!

Where to now tour leader?

Gabby told us all about the rabbits...who was the dad  and who was the mum....their babies were just gorgeous.

Now to hear about the eels......

Photo time...

Thanks to Sophie we all had an ice block then a chat about what we had seen at Willowbank

Can you see the tortoises ?

A few final words from the tour leader.

A huge thank you to Gabby and her family for their generosity.

Enjoy your weekend...see you next week.

Week 3 Term 4

On Thursday we visited Willowbank to see all the new spring babies.
Gabby has a family connection there and has visited many times so she was appointed the "Tour Leader" and what an amazing tour leader she was  . She knew exactly where to take us and the names of some of the animals. She even answered our questions!!!

We had a picnic lunch before heading off to see the animals.

This is Sam...he used to belong to Gabby's granddad.

The goats were very friendly towards us...we wondered if they were looking for food!

We all had fun following Gabby and listening to what she had to say about all the animals. We think that she is very lucky to go to Willowbank whenever she likes.

Gayle has has trouble today downloading photos so she will put more on in another blog.

A birthday at Waimairi!

Waimairi School is having a birthday this weekend.      It is 100 years old....isn't that amazing !!

We hope that you will be able to come to school on Saturday as there is heaps going on to celebrate this milestone.
At 11am a Fair gets underway so come down and be part of the celebrations.  Fingers crossed that the sun is going to shine.

We  were very excited this week as we have a new team member.
Her name is Gabby and she is nine years old.  So now we have five boys and four girls.

Aieshar and Luke were away for two days as they went to camp with their class. When they returned they gave us a report on everything that they did while they were away.
They had a such a fun time...they said even the food was great!!  We were so pleased that the weather was kind to them.

Wednesday saw us with our art shirts on doing marble painting.

Have you ever tried marble painting?
All you need is a box, paper, paint and marbles.   It is great watching the marble roll around the box making patterns.

On Thursday we baked.  Since it was Gabby's first week with us she got to choose what to bake and she chose ginger nuts.

Mixing the baking soda with the boiling water...

We have to get another apron  as we only have 8!

The final product...

Enjoy the long weekend everyone....make sure you pop into school to be part of the fun times on Saturday..

Welcome back!!!

Welcome back everyone...we hope that you have all had a well deserved holiday!

On our first day back we were lucky enough to go and see Craig Smith and his partner Margaret performing in the school hall.

Craig is an author .    Our favourite story of his is the Wonkey Donkey .
He is such a fantastic story teller and singer. We laughed. sang and got up to do some movement/ actions.

It was a great way to start the new term!!

Congratulations to Luke who turned 8 during the holidays . We had ice cream on Tuesday to celebrate his birthday.

We all sang happy birthday and gave him 8 claps and one more for good luck!

We received the most amazing surprise this week.....Rachel's sister Sophie wrote a letter  to us during the holidays. There was a sentence in the letter for all of us. She said the most lovely things about us and we all had smiles on our face as Gayle read the letter out.
As well as saying wonderful things about us she gave us $10 of her own pocket money for us to spend!!! How amazing is that!
We all think that she is one very caring person.

We are wondering if Gayle and Rachel are going to take us to McDonalds to spend it...we will let you know!

Thank you Sophie ...we think that you are wonderful!!

Enjoy the weekend and the lovely warm weather.      We have had   such a wonderful start to the term!!
