Art, Art, and more Art......

We have had a week of being very 'arty'.

Tuesday saw us trying our hand at a bit of sewing.
For some of us it was extremely difficult but we kept on trying and guess what...it got easier!!!

Great concentration Gabby!

Keep trying Aaron...you are doing a great job!

Wednesday was full of art...we tried our hand at marble painting, portraits, drawing on tiles and dye with eye droppers.

Today saw us finding more art to talk about....some of it was fantastic and some not so good.

We went into the city to go on a graffiti hunt.

We found heaps of graffiti ...it was everywhere.

To our dismay  we found that  the graffiti that we didn't want to see was everywhere.  We were amazed at how high up people climb to deface buildings.

Oh no....some people have been very busy graffiting all these windows....

The clever graffiti.....making our city more vibrant!

Having a sun bathe and dreaming of an Australian holiday!!!!!!!

On Monday we will be giving out thoughts about how we felt about all the graffiti that we saw today....the good and the bad.

We will let you know next week what we came up with.

If you can go into the city to see what you think about about all the graffiti that is around.

If you do that let us know what you thought.

Enjoy your weekend.

Half way.....

Did you know that we are half way through the term?

The weeks are going by so quickly!!!    That must mean that spring is on its way.

What do the Arts mean to us.....

Well we wondered about this and this is what we came up with.

Drama/Acting, Singing, Painting/ Drawing, Creating, Duplo, Playing an instrument, Musical chairs, Playing hospitals, Puppets, Cooking/Decorating.

Concert time with Aieshar and Gabby......we are hoping that they will share their talents at Monday Meet Up

Drama...acting out the story of Greedy Cat

Do you know what graffiti is?

These are our comments about graffiti...

* It is very cool

*They use spray can. It is good if you aren't doing it on trains.

* People spray things on other people's property...it is bad.

* Three of us didn't know.

So off on a graffiti hunt we went this week and look what we found in a street near school......

Oh No!! This is not good at all.!
Why are people doing this to property that doesn't belong to them?
We were all really upset to see this as we wouldn't like it happening at our  home or school.

Next week we are heading out into the city to see more graffiti..mmm we are wondering it will be like what we saw this week.

We hope not but we will let you know.

Hope that you enjoy the wonderful weather that we are going to have this weekend.

Week 4

Our apologies for no blog last week....winter bugs were out and about and grabbed some of us!

We would like to say a huge 'thank you' to Ari for coming with his guitar to the Afternoon Programme to get us all up to speed so that we can sing He Honare at Monday Morning Met Up.

Ari ...you have an amazing voice, smile and such a talented guitarist......Thank you for giving up your time for us.

This week Gabby played her guitar so that we could keep on practising.

Phew...at last we have finished our Pukeko!!
It seemed to take ages to collect light blue bottles tops.
Thank you to those people that collected them for us...we couldn't have completed it without your help.
Our next mission is to complete our poppy in remembrance of the Gallipoli 100 years celebration.

Nearly there.....

Just a few more....

Now onto our poppy....

Have you any red bottle tops at home that you could give us please?

We wish that you could have been with us this week when were acting out the story of Greedy Cat.

We really enjoyed playing the part of the shop keeper, Mum and Greedy Cat.

Oh no...here comes Greedy Cat to look in Mum's shopping bag

In goes the potato chips ....

It is hard work being a shop keeper.....remembering all those prices...

That pepper was mighty hot!!

Greedy Cat in waiting for Mum to come by with her shopping bag.....

All ready to go shopping....

We all enjoyed doing drama so much that we want to do it again next week!

We are missing Luke B. Every day we have been looking up to see  what the temperatures are like in Surfers Paradise......Lucky Luke....they have been very warm and we are all a wee bit envious.
We are looking forward to hearing about his holiday when he returns.

Enjoy your weekend everyone.
