Week 5

Annyeong....hello from South Korea

Wow! What a wonderful week of having the sun out every day!!

Listening and imagining....

Last week Mary read us a book called The Music Tree. We didn't get to see the illustrations because we had to imagine what they might look like.
It is quite a hard thing to do!!
When the story was finished we had to do a drawing of our own music tree.
Call in and see what we achieved....Everyone thinks that our drawings are spectacular.

During the week we went and visited Mrs Coleman's new house. Her house had to be demolished because of the earthquake. We went to see the roofers getting the iron ready to put on the roof.

Talking to Mr Coleman...

Asking questions....

The new house....

Fun at a nearby playground...

Being brave....

Last term we made our own pois but sadly they came apart when we went to use them.
Luckily the school have some so this week we practised our 'poi' skills

                                                              Well done everyone!!!

This week we had a 'jam' session ...you should have been here. It was so much fun!!  And VERY noisey!!!

We started off by watching street artists making music on YouTube.
Then it was our turn to have a go!!
First we followed different beats , then it was onto making our own music.

We made music on buckets, pots, lids and tins

Today we made hamburgers...thanks to Aaron...it was his choice.

These words described how we thought they tasted....scrumptious, delicious, yum, surprisingly good, really, really good, want my mum to cook them!!!

We had lettuce, beetroot, pineapple and cheese to choose from for our buns.

Time to turn the patties over....

Now its time to eat!!!

Thanks Aaron...everyone thought that you chose really well!!

Have a stunning weekend ...lets hope the sun continues to shine.

Spring is on it's way!!!!

Week 3

Zdravstvuyte....Hello from Russia!

This week we welcomed Kelly to our team. Aieshar and Gabby are really pleased to have another girl joining us!!

Cheers Kelly and welcome to the Afternoon Programme!!

This term we are practising to get confidence to perform in front of others.

We started this week by doing some role playing.

We were given different types of situations that could occur in our life.

What would we do to get help?

Aaron speaking to the police after dialing 111....

Oh No!! Ryan has collapsed...what should we do?????

A policeman arrives on the scene to help!

Kelly ringing the fire brigade....

We wanted to come up with some words that describe us and the Afternoon Programme....this is what we came up with.

Awesome, fantastic, terrific, excellent, responsible, nice, okay, outstanding, nurturing is what we came up with for Afternoon.

Perfect, respect, one and only, gorgeous, reliable, amazing, mindful, mega and excited were the words we chose for Programme.

On Wednesday Gayle left all the work that we were going to do at home.!

Mmmm....what were we to do?

We had a games and dancing afternoon. It was so cool...we have heaps of fun.

We had so much fun that we asked Gayle could she leave our work at home again another day!!!!!

You would have loved being with us this afternoon....Jasiah chose chocolate, banana muffins for us to bake.

They were just scrumptious..we wanted more!!

Putting in the baking powder...

Egg cracking...

Time to mix everything together..

Ready for the oven...

Ready to eat!!!!!

We have the recipe for these delicious GF muffins if you would like it.

Have a superb weekend everyone!

Term 3 Week 2

Min-ga-la-ba....Greetings from Burma/Myanmar

This week we celebrated Aieshar's 12th birthday.

Happy Birthday Aieshar!

On Tuesday we put on our art shirts and started to complete our rock art.
Two people in our team commented on how lovely and peaceful it was doing this activity.

We haven't all completed them yet but here is some of the work that we have done......

                                                What do you think?

They are very cool aren't they?
We are all extremely happy with what we have produced.

From rock art we went onto drawing a portrait of ourselves. We had turns at looking in the mirror and describing our features and then it was down to work...artists work!

They are all up on the wall in Learning Support...pop in to see them when you are passing by....we think that you will be impressed!!

Desharne chose apple crumble for us all to cook today.

What a shame you couldn't be with us...it was just scrummy!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone.
